Jennifer Teresa Villanueva is a Mexican-American photographer born and based in Chicago, Illinois. Her work concentrates on the ways race, ethnicity, geography, citizenship, gender, and class contribute to American society and its understanding of itself. She has exhibited at the School of the Art Institute (2020), Museum of Contemporary Art (2018), and Gallery 37 (2016). She is a recipient of the SPARK Grant, Rauschenberg Artist FundOffice of Engagement: Race, Equity, and Inclusion Fellowship, Fred Endsley Memorial Fellowship, Bank of America Scholarship, and John W. Kurtich Foundation Travel Grant. Jennifer graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2020) and is a MFA Candidate at the University of Texas at Austin (2023).
